Jesus on Substack
Multiplying like loaves and fishes
Can I tell you something that makes me smile?
Christians are showing up on Substack.
Like, everywhere.
Every time I open the app, somebody else has pulled up a chair. Someone is sharing a devotional they wrote at their kitchen table at six in the morning. Someone is telling the story of what God brought them through. Sharing the hard times, the quiet miracles and the moments when everything shifted.
And I just sit here sipping my coffee thinking: Look at what God is doing.
Because this place doesn’t feel like a stage or a performance where everyone needs perfect lighting and perfect answers and a perfectly curated bio.
It feels more like a front porch, or sitting around my mom’s kitchen table. A place where somebody leans over and says, “Can I tell you what God did today?” And the person across from her sets down her mug and says, “I need to hear that today.”
That is what I love about this…It makes me think about the loaves and the fishes.
You know the story. There’s a huge crowd of hungry people and the disciples are looking around like, there is no way we have enough for this. Then, a little boy with five loaves of bread and two small fish steps forward and offers what he has.
Jesus took it, gave thanks, broke it, and fed thousands ….with leftovers!!
That is exactly what I see happening here.
One person offers a small devotional, or someone shares a story she almost kept to herself. Another posts a Scripture reflection that comes straight from her own challenges. And somebody reading it, somebody who almost didn’t open the app that day, feels seen for the first time in a long time and connects with what was just written.
That is bread multiplying.
Your story doesn’t take away from mine. My story doesn’t take away from yours.
Your words might reach someone I never could. My words might encourage someone you will never meet.
And together, we are becoming this beautiful, messy, faith-filled table. A place where people pull up a chair and say, “Come sit down. I have something to share.”
So yes. I am here for Jesus on Substack.
I am here for the devotionals and the testimonies and the honest questions. I am here for the writers who are brave enough to tell the truth and the quiet ones still finding their voice. I am here for the people who are not trying to be fancy. Just faithful.
We are pulling up chairs. We are passing the bread.
And somehow, little by little, God is multiplying it.
Let’s keep shining.

And if something in you stirred while you were reading this. If part of you thought, I have a story too. I want to write it. I want to offer it. I want you to know that feeling is not an accident.
That nudge? That is worth paying attention to.
Sally’s Kitchen Table is where I go a little deeper. More personal reflections, the kind of honest writing that does not always make it into a public post. It is also where I am sharing first access to my book ENOUGH, a space for the woman who has been holding everyone else together and is finally ready to come back to herself. And the moment you join, a free Bible study on Ruth is waiting for you.
Come as you are. There is always room at this table. ☕️

I agree with you that this is an amazing place to find fellow Christians. Your broaden my perspective of what God’s doing not just in my little circle, but in the bigger community. Substack just brings me joy and new relationships.
